[Build Log] Blue Demon (Cobalt Prodigy)

Hey I'm Afro! Ive been following the OCN community for quite a while now, and recently decided I want to be an active member in it. Been interested in computers and alike since I was a wee little lad tinkering around my grandpas IBM repair shop. I got my first "gaming" pc back in 2009 that had an Athlon x2 Black Edition and Nvidia GT220. I upgraded it to an Phenom x6 1090T which my buddy now owns for video editing. (I want to reclaim that chip at some point) And I decided its time for a real high end gaming rig smile.gif

The build!

Bitfenix Prodigy Cobalt Blue [] (I needed something smaller sized, while this isn't the smallest ITX case on the market, I can get some nice watercooling in it and when I get access to my tools again I want to mod the motherboard tray to make it vertical)
Asus P8Z77 Deluxe itx [] (Obvious option for a K series!)
Intel Core i7 3770k [x] (Thanks Nanoscale!)
Nvidia GTX 770 [] (Originally wanted to get a titan since I believed 4k was going to be relevant in the mainstream market soon, but by the time that happens we will have the horsepower to well power it)
Corsair Vengeance/Dominator Platinum 8/16gb [] (Still undecided on the ram I want, if I can blue mod the platinum that would go nice with the theme but with a vertical motherboard I don't know how visible it will be for that extra 'bling' )
Silverstone Strider 600w Full Modular [] (140mm and short cables sold me on this)
Western Digital 1TB Black (or 2.5" equal drive due to mounting space) [] (If I fit a thick rad in the front I will have to get a 2.5" drive to mount elsewhere)
Crucial M4 128gb SSD [] (Its blue)

Future Plans (August?)

XSPC RX 240 []
XSPC RX/EX 120 []
XSPC Raystorm CPU Block []
Primochill White UV 1/2" id []
D5 Pump /w Small Cylinder Res
Matching Compression Fittings

The parts are going to be ordered here in the next few days and should arrive here a few days after that. I then plan to borrow my roommates T3i for some glamour shots and maybe even record a small build time lapse. Who knows.

MY QUESTIONS
Anyone with a 770/780/TItan >> Is the the Geforce Logo itself Green or is the LED inside it green?

its actually green with a led behind it
for the GPU that is

As for the memory, i think that the new series memory kits that corsair is releasing soon from computex and they will have a blue kit...which i think look better than platinums, that is just me im not to fond of the leds in memory though specially large heat spreaders that really dont do the memory justice...hence low profile kits are a steal for me and SSF builds...

Though this is pretty sweet
the 240 is it going top side or is it going to be put where the HDD cage is located
and also the 120 where is that goin on the rear ?
the only thing is making sure that the rad on the back does not hit the upright VRM board....specially with push pull configs...hence why slim style on the rear is easier to deal with for push pull though i have yet to buy the prodigy because im opting for a newer caselabs or something different because i want to take ahold of all the space and leave nothing open...like use a cardboard box or something

This looks nice though,
a name though that is up to your imagination, take a dictionary or your fave book and skim through and combine words blah blah wink.gif

The plan is to get the 240 in the front with a slim 120 at the rear. But that's out in the nearish future. That's the reason for 2.5" drives so they can be mounted elsewhere. I think I'm going to get a vengeance LP instead.

Thinking ahead I may throw in 5 gelid wing 12pl fans to use until and when my watercooling gear arrives. Until that day I don't know what my plans are for cooling. Phanteks maybe?

Still pondering names for the build.

In the mean time. Here is my i7 3770k I received in the mail a few days ago from Nanoscale.

About 1 week and all of my parts short of the watercooling should be here smile.gif
