When is projected amd 8xxx series release? I wish I wasn't building my rig before bf4.. I specifically want it to run bf4 the best possible and was pretty set on a gtx 780.

Nvidia has nothing on AMD right now. AMD is blowing them away.

I wouldn't go that far, but the next twelve months are certainly looking more positive for AMD than they did a six weeks ago.
However surely something solid about a 7970 successor would secure their position, least they fall far behind by trying to give the 7 series such an overly long lifespan. The last thing we want is Nvidia to release an 880 and AMD to still be trying to push the 7990 lol

With a 780 you'll do absolutely fine playing bf4, but you said optimal, so you may have to wait 4th quarter 2013/1st quarter 2014 (most speculation points to this timeframe) for the 8000 series though. Odds are from what DICE is saying the 7970 will run bf4 stellar as well. Remember bf3 is based on frostbite engie too. See this guy on his setup. He has i7, and 7970 @1080P. He doesnt go below 90fps. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yfoBvEkbvI I'd personally wait. The 8000 series seems to be launching around the same time bf4 (October 29th) does.

I think the market share would like to have a talk with you.....

Also the Titan (or even the gtx 780) would like a word with AMD's single fastest gpu.

Not that AMD doesn't have good products and some great price/performance but they aren't anywhere close to blowing any company "away".

As long as its not bundled with an i3, then it should be fine lachen.gif

I must admit, I'm expecting AMD to finally release the new series of GPU's four to eight weeks before BF4 is launched. Right around the time when news of the final release is more available and people are upgrading their systems in anticipation.

Duno what your on about my 320.18 drivers run fine on both my 770 and 660 Ti. Just because a few cards go bad doesn't mean its a ROGUE driver. Honestly if the driver was that bad Nvidia would have taken the Download link down and advised everyone to revert, so they wouldn't have to deal with replacements ect. HOWEVER i am very keen on the new AMD cards & BF4 biggrin.gif
