Skyrim HD Texture Mod Install Help?

As you can see there are five 2K Textures - Skyrim HD mods to activate, the problem is after I activate the first four mods using NMM. When I try to activate the fifth mod which only comes in v1.6 I am asked, "Overwrite Files", "Yes to all", "Yes", "No to all" and "No". Which of the four choices should I be selecting? The other v1.5 mods are the latest versions. Another issue is I have already activated "Ruins Clutter Improved", yet it doesn't show up in the plug-ins. Why?

There shouldnt be any risk in overwriting and I have a feeling there are a few overlapping .dds files between the archives and overwriting them should not cause any issues as they are likely identical. I dont use HD2K riften though so dont quote me on that.

Many texture/mesh mods will not have an ESP to activate since they are straight replacers and require no additional loading information. If you have doubts if it installed or not look in the archive for ruins clutter improvement (or any mod for that matter) and check your skyrim directory for those files (and make sure the file structure is correct while youre in there).

I'm not sure what the file structure should look like since I haven't activated any mod yet?

Should I install Riften first or last as for the Skyrim HD - 2K Textures? I have a question about installing mods manually, I extracted Immersive Weapons files on desktop. Do I copy and paste all of them into the Data Folder and is there a particular place within the Data Folder? Sorry it's my first manual install.

I have a list of mods that I would like to start out with playing Skyrim for the first time, will these mods work well together? Also what order do I install them in and what load order?

I think id try installing Riften last personally. As for immersive weapons looks like those files just go right in the data folder and do not need to be placed anywhere.

Generally BSA/BSL and ESP's go in your data folder, DDS go in textures, hkx/nif and tri go in your meshes folder. there are several other file types that can go in these places as well. One thing you can do that i would recommend is you can place mod archives in your NMM or wrye mods folders and use them to install the mod even though you did not DL the mod through them. (i dont know if you use either of these). For Wrye they need to be packed correctly though meaning it needs to be an archive containing the correct install structure or BAIN layout (BAIN is just a type of install pack). NMM and/or steam workshop is probably the simplest way to do things.

As for that mods list, it looks fine to me save 2 mods being realistic lighting and enhanced lighting and fx. Im not sure if ELFX will play well with RL. Try placing ELFX after realistic lights in your load order and if you have any areas that appear over-lit or abnormal its probably a conflict between these 2 mods. if they do conflict give RCRN or CoT a shot, i have used and can recommend both.

I would use BOSS to sort your mods and fine tune some placements after you run it. Generally try to lump things into groups. Have texture mods with texture mods, added items with added items etc. in your ESP list. BOSS does a pretty good job usually but sometimes it places a mod out of order (or if it does not recognize an esp it will place it at the bottom of the load order, these need to be manually placed.) Look for BOSS here or google it.

So the Immersive Weapons v1.5 updates notes, Immersive Weapons Readme and Immersive Weapons List folders go in my Data Folder?

I downloaded Climates Of Tamriel V3 here, is CoT a regular ordinary mod or is it an ENB mod?

Does RCRN use a different Mod Manager since it's not on the Nexus mods or is it installed manually like other Nexus mods?

Is there any reason why I shouldn't try ENB version of Climates Of Tamriel V3?

Sorry for all the question, appreciated it! +Rep

Drop the files from immersive weapons straight into data (probably safe to leave out the readme and update notes)

CoT is a stand alone mod that happens to work really well with ENB mods (ENB is a post process injection framework that works for many games)

You can install RCRN like any nexus mod through an archive (manually) or through the mod manager. it wont matter where you get the mod from they will all install in the same manner. (like i said earlier you can place mods in your NMM mods folder and it will "manage" them). RCRN is still on nexus as far as I know but i wouldnt run it *with* CoT

For CoT id just grab the 3_1 main file, the sounds and the patches for whatever dlc's you have. the ENB listed under misc files is the official ENB made by the dev of CoT. As said above ENB is something totally separate. If you decide to try it and like it, go ahead and use it as its a personal preference thing.

Is there a way for the mods I have to install manually to show up in my NMM? They show up in my Skyrim Launcher that showing the load order.

Hey does anyone know what the differences are between Dungeons Hardcore/Hazardous and Interiors Warm/Cold?

I ran into a little snag, I installed Skyrim HD 2K Textures Dungeons, then attempted to install Skyrim HD 2K Textures Landscapes and it says,
Quote:
"A Different Version Of Skyrim HD - 2K Textures - Skyrim HD v1.5 FULL Dungeons has been detected". "The install version is 1.5, the new version is 1.5". "Would you like to upgrade? Yes, No or cancel?
Which option am I supposed to choose, Yes or No?

Thanks!

Any ESP's that show up in the skyrim launcher should show up in NMM on the plugins tab.

Warm/cold and hardcore/hazardous are just lighting options for those areas. Hardcore is the darkest dungeon option and warm/cold will bump colors to be slight warmer or a little cooler (more or less vibrant).

Selecting "no" installs the new mod normally where "yes" attempts an update. Select "no" and then overwrite anything it asks to overwrite.

There seems to be a problem after installing all my mods, all Skyrim HD - 2K Textures in NMM shows activated, but doesn't show up at all in Plugins, Data Folder or in the launcher! Mountains, rocks and distant terrain looks dull. COT doesn't give me dark night and my daytime looks washed out or bleached.

What's going on?

HD2K has no ESP file and will not show up in your plugins list because of this, its just textures. Mountains and rocks need their own texture replacers and distant terrain will look dull unless you install an LOD mod. (also be sure to use out of game AF)

Make sure for CoT your load order is correct and that you selected level 6, 7 or 8 for nights in the installer. The sounds of skyrim mod will stop CoT from working all together so there may be other similar conflicts i just dont know about so try testing with just CoT enbaled in plugins.

My Skyrim is starting to look many times better than it did from the beginning! I have noticed that since I installed "Trees HD Skyrim Variation" (with NMM) my tree stumps look awesome, the leaves and branches look very soft even when somewhat close. When I deactivated "Trees HD Skyrim Variation" I got the leaves and branches detail back, but once I reactivated "Trees HD Skyrim Variation" I lost detail in the leaves and branches again. What's with that?
