Power Color 7870 Myst (Tahiti) Overclocking Issue

Alright guys I just bought 2 Power Color 7870 Myst (Tahiti) Cards and just had them flashed at a shop to bios version 32 in order to get them to start up on my computer because of stupid windows 8 UEFI compatibility. Now I finely got them running on my computer in crossfire mode now everything works fine. The only issue im having with them is trying to Overclock the memory clock in Afterburner. when I start afterburner it allows me to change the Core clock and the power limit just fine without any issues passing kombuster burn in tests. when I go about changing the memory clock in afterburner my computer freezes. I can change It by only 3 MHz then start Kombuster and get a freeze. When it does freeze up I get no response and have to press the reset button. I'm very confused why this is happening because everyone says they overclocked there memory clock and I cant do it with mine. I did have 2 XFX 5770 that I replaced and have been able to overclock the memory before on different cards without and issue. please help. mad.gif

If you want to overclock your memory you should flash back to 28. 32 has issues with VRAM overclocks. Also it should be noted your card has Elpida RAM so it will be limited in overclocks and lacks any kind of heatsinks. RAM overclocks will not make a big enough difference in performance to matter so I would suggest leaving them stock @ 1500MHz.

Thank you very much. That pretty much took care of my question. At least I know so I don't have to worry about it. At least I can overclock the core to 1200 kHz and be stable.
