Custom loop, gut H100i or secondary loop?

Thread Starter
I just ventured into the custom liquid cooling world after using a few AIO coolers for a while. I currently have installed the XSPC Raystorm 750 RS360 kit with an additional EK HD 7970 full waterblock and an additional 240 radiator. I have an additional HD 7950 with a dwoods bracket running an H100i as I did not want to spend any more money on this setup (ie another full cover block) for the time being. With that said, my question is, would it be better if I gutted the H100i to add to the full loop as just a waterblock in series? or should I tee off the loop to the H100i and still run its pump as a sort of secondary loop? Thank you.

There will really not be a huge benefit to consolidating your loop, apart from looks. You'd have to make sure your fittings are the same size as the ports on the H100i.

The desire to consolidate the loop would be to reduce noise. The custom loop can run the 7970 at full load with fans at minimum and the card never passes 41C, the H100i with the 7950 at full load has the card temp at 47-50C with the fans at full RPM. I have the correct fittings already, just wasn't sure if gutted pump in series or working pump in connected secondary loop would perform better. Thank you for your response.

Just sell off the H100i and buy a full cover block for the 7950 instead. Not having the h100 pump will probably reduce noise quite a bit.
