Motherboard repaint (Mpower vs Gigabyte OC)

Thread Starter
Hello there,

Ive been looking at the Gigabyte Z87X-OC for a bit now, and I have to say I really do love the looks of it. But since Im only goingto use 2way SLI I started looking about and found this yesterday :

MSI MPOWER Z87.

Its about the same cost, but its far from as nice a looker as the Z87X-OC. It also comes with great wifi-capabilities which is great for me since my rig needs to be wireless. But since Im making my rig neon green/black/white I started thinking that maybe with a green led the yellow could pass for green. But then I thought "WHY NOT ZOIDBERG?" and started looking for green paints.

The HSFs on the MPOWER seems to come off easily enough, and you cound probably switch the thermal paste under them for CLP/Arctic cooling paste, which shouldnt be a bad thing :

So to the questions.

Firstly, what do you think of the idea?
Secondly, the yellow details on the coolers seem to just be decorative, not filling any cooling purposes, so painting them shouldnt reduce performance right?
Thirdly, the theme suddenly have 2 options instead of 1: A. I use the mpower, repaint it neon green, repaint Corsair fan "decoration rings" neon green and use a white/green/black theme. B: Repaint corsair rings orange, repaint the geforce logo orange on the graphics cards and sleeve orange/black instead and use the Gigabyte.

So, whaddya think? smile.gif

(adding in pics of the mobos so you can compare without googling. Sorry about the image-spamming)
