Adding Ram but need wise guiding hand.

Basically what it says in the title.
I have a bit of spare cash lying around and was considering buying two more sticks of 4gb ram totalling 8gb which would bring my system up to 16gb in total.

I currently have two sticks placed in my Asrock Extreme6 in dual-channel mode but was basically wondering to avail of the two other dual channel slots do I need to purchase the exact same stick of ram down to the exact same model number.

This is my current ram

And this is what I was about to purchase as I need low-profile ram due to a large cpu fan

Also on a side note, what kind of improvement will I see in terms of gaming and will it be noticeable?
As an example I play Skyrim on Ultra with a few settings dialled back a bit (shadows etc) with a huge amount of mods (texture mods, new lands and ENB enhanced shaders). With all this my FPS bounces around 30 to 50.
Will this added ram improve this situation (not that there is anything wrong with it)

Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thank you.

You don't need to buy memory that is the exact same thing (though I prefer to so that I can keep the aesthetics) but they should have the same timings and speed (i.e. if they are 7-7-7-15 1600mhz, the new set should be the same)

As far as helping with gaming, gaming takes up very little actual memory (it uses a lot of GPU memory, not CPU), if you want better performance you're better off saving and getting a better GPU, CPU, or SSD.

I'd help recommend something, but you don't have your sig. rig filled out, nor have you listed any of the components you have thumb.gif

I was just considering it as I had a bit of extra cash.
Might save it for something else then thanks
