p5b deluxe low fsb limit

Thread Starter
well its not really low but not what i need, i have a max of 485 or so anything up to 490 and above crashes or actually wont restart when i exit bios, ive tried a mulit change also to try and get it higher but no such luck, my ram can handle atleast 530 mhz i know so it isnt that

does this sound about average for this board or is it a dud of sorts, im running the 711 bios right now, had the 804 before with same results,

i have some new chipset coolers on the way but my temps arent bad so i doubt that will help but im gonna give it a try

anyother 965 chipset boards out there that can handle greater the 520 fsb, does the 965i do it and if so can i swap them out with out fraggin my raid setup

thanks for any info guys

I was recently told by Chozart (I think) that if you try setting your PCI-E frequency between 108MHz and 115MHz that doing so can help stability. I guess you'd have to try it like, 108, test, 109, test 110, test, etc, etc, but it might help?

Highly-Annoyed

yeah its fast but i would like to be faster
if i can, plus it would be nice to run a 7 multi if i could to speed up everything else but i dont see hitting 540 fsb anytime soon

its jsut alot of people say that these boards can do alot faster then what im doing with it right now, maybe i need to do some mods to it or something

off-topic: anybody else hate how it doesnt show cooling in the system thing now, i think it shows optical drive instead

Perhaps replacing the northbridge stock cooler with something a little more heavy duty if you've not already done so? Perhaps water cool the NB if you're not already? If you've already got the NB VCore to max, perhaps there are some volt-mods for your motherboard?

It's worth looking into perhaps?

agreed thats a major part of how someones system is going to be able to overclock

highly-annoyed i have a nb cooler on the way that im goona test out and i get next weekend off so i am seriously considering going on a modding spree with my soldering iron and some 50k ohm pots and see what happens
