So why would you want anything else
I'm not sure the start button really has any requirement any more. it seems a bit silly to have one on the taskbar considering you can just pull your mouse to the bottom left corner of the screen and the start button appears like that. Seems more logical than windows 7.
I absolutely adore the new windows start menu though, I never used to use my start menu that much.. now I get to customise it, it looks so beautiful and all the stuff I care about takes priority on it.. and I use it all the time!
I dont hate windows 8, but being a computer tech who deals with computer issues everyday, I can say windows 8 is not that friendly nor an easy transition for the average pc buyer. I personally hate the always on email as clients have to manually refresh the mail client if internet drops for a second in addition to metro. Aside from those 2 issues, I love it.
Everyone on OCN should have no issues adapting to it and I sure dont, I just think Microsoft could have done a better job bringing it to the market and educating customers on it. Would it have been so hard for them to make it an option for people to have the start menu? The number of calls a day I get from people having issues with windows 8 is ridiculous.
