BIOS Access Screen Too Fast

So this is a strange issue I feel like and I'm not really sure what to call it, so I'm going to do my best to explain in detail.

I have an ASUS P8Z77-V LK motherboard and an i5 3570K processor. I have had this rig for since this past October and have just been using the GPU Boost switch set to enable since then. I finally decided that I would overclock it myself. So I went ahead and updated my BIOS first to the latest BIOS (version 1001) from a pretty old version (probably the version that it came with). This update came with a change in the ASUS logo that is displayed on the screen that comes up before the operating system kicks in - the screen that allows you to press DEL to access the BIOS. The screen at this point still gave ample time to press DEL of F2 to access the BIOS.

I went in, made my overclocking upgrades, and then got into the OS and started testing it out and began the process of optimization. At this point, every time that I needed to go back to the BIOS to makes changes, I noticed that the screen that allows me to access the BIOS only flashed for maybe a second and then went straight to the Windows 7 start up screen. I then began to just repeatedly press the DEL key after I rebooted to make sure I didn't miss this short time window to access the BIOS.

I eventually finalized my optimization and just settled at a nice and easy 4.3GHz and a nice low 1.15ish volts. (This was my first time to overclock a PC so I was excited just for this, though I'm sure I can get a lot more out of the i5 3570K. But I digress.) Now that the overclocking is finished, I tried to see if I could find a way to extend the time the ASUS motherboard screen comes up to allow me more time to access the BIOS, but I can't figure out how to do it.

If anyone knows anything about this or might be able to point me in the right direction to extend the time that screen appears, I would greatly appreciate it!

hold down del key; dont smash it, just hold it down through the POST screen. (start holding down delete the second the keyboard has focus)

When you get into the BIOS, turn off "Fast-Boot" option, to make the post screen show there intended amount of time.
