Wanted:
Mechanical Keyboard Cherry MX Browns Thanks!

Will Ship To: Anywhere

Looking to buy a mechanical keyboard but I just don't want to spend 100 bucks on one. I've never used one before but from the looks and what I read, cherry MX browns are what would probably suit me best. Thanks!

I'm more excited for this keyboard than I thought. I dunno if it's because I'm getting rid of the last piece of crap Razer product or because I've never used a mechanical keyboard before.

I reckon mech keyboards are totally worth the price premium, if you cant get one second hand i wouldnt be hesitant to buy one new.

I used to love Razer, they were a real genuine company when they started up. I had a diamondback that i loved, it died, they took an RMA 6 months after warranty and sent me a new one after I shipped them mine. That one died the same way, they told me to keep it and sent me a new one over night.

I got the 5.1 headphones before I knew much about audio, they were well built but the control thing was garbage and shorted out on me. Loved my deathadder then I broke the wheel on accident and asked them to send me a new one and I'd pay for it. They tell me no and I should just buy a new mouse. You're right, I'll just buy one from Logitech because they would have done it.

I'm just tired of the company and their sleezy cheap products they have been putting out. They're getting shoddy on their quality more and mroe while hiking up the price, and then they use some of the most ridiculous marketing I've ever seen, next to Monster products, not even Apple is that stupid.

I paid like 70 for that Lycosa, now I'm looking at it and thinking "....what in the hell did I think was worth 70 bucks on it....because it lit up blue?"

Anywho, I want to thank you guys for the links and so forth, I absolutely LOVE this keyboard. My typing is already getting faster and I don't feel like my fingers get fatiuged from having to bottom out keys, I even notice I sometimes don't even push these keys down all the way which is nice, just feels like I'm typing on marshmallows. Gave all who helped rep.

For those who find this thread and look for info on the keyboard, here's my thoughts.

This thing is solid, it looked like a normal plstic keyboard when I first opened up the box (no over marketed packaging, just enough to keep it safe), but it's a keyboard made out of plastic, I don't want flashy. Picking it up, the thing feels like a crime deterrent. It's heavy and just feels really well built. They keys have a real nice texture to them and I love the lettering on the keys, they just pop, what ever font they used, I love it.

Browns are the first and only mech key style I've used and so far, I can't imagine anything is better or worse (except blacks, they just sound terrible). I game a lot of FPS and I find it refreshing to not have to jam keys down to do what I need to, i feel like my reactions are bit quicker since I'm not having to bottom out. Typing is like I said above, typing on marshmallows, they have that springy feeling that just feels perfect when pushing down, just enough to know your pushing a key but not enough to feel like it'll wear your fingers out.

The one thing I'm 50/50 on is the cord. I hate how stiff it is, it's got some sort of braided plastic sleeve on it but it makes the cord super stiff. Not really that big of a deal but I just don't' like it. The cool thing is the cord is external. It has a mini (not micro) usb port on the bottom the cable plugs into. This will/should pull out if you trip on the cord so it doesn't cause the keyboard to come crashing down. If something happens to the cord, it doesn't render your keyboard useless, just get a different cord. The downside is it leaves the possibility to ruin the usb port if something happens, I didn't open it up to look inside to see what kind of solder job it would be to replace it but I don't see it being an issue for me with how my set up is.

Was it worth 80 bucks? Yes, you get it a bit cheaper because it doesn't have the extra space on it for the numpad which I didn't need anyways, I like the smaller format of it. If you want to try a MX Brown keyboard and are on a budget. You have no reason to not buy this.

The OEM internal is Costar which is who Filco uses as well. So that's a good thing.
