Stop with this wavering foolishness. No one is buying Office 2013 with your silly subscription model, what makes you think people will buy this?

With that said, I'm sure they will try a direct subscription model for popular games like madden and COD in the near future. Not just the "elite play" BS they already have for COD, but an actual "you can't play unless you pony up $10 per month" model. All of this technology is designed to head in that direction. Which is why I hate it.

That would be down the publishers like EA and Activision, not Microsoft and Sony.

If that did happen, would the PS4 be able to switch to this model? If not it would become obsolete overnight.

Ok just to make sure I'm hearing this right. I have a small group of friends that I borrow/let borrow games with. So I can add them to my family list and then we all have full access to each others libraries? We just can't play the same game at the same time so it's pretty much like a more seamless way of letting some one borrow your game? If this is the case, doesn't sound bad to me at all. Also makes the need for a 24 hour check make sense as well, because other wise could just install the game then go offline and sell the disc. If true why the heck aren't Microsoft letting this be more known and better explained?

One thing I haven't seen mentioned is, if you are playing a "shared" copy of a friend's game, do you also have to share their save profile? Many games these days only have one save profile per system. It's easy to assume that you can have your own save profile, but I wouldn't be surprised if that is restricted.

OCN became a PS4 forum overnight. I want the PS4 and will be copping one, but I think the 10 people thing isn't a terrible idea. Since I was a child, I lost and gained so many games due borrowing and if something like this existed back in the day, I'd still have my KH2. The only reason I don't like it is because it replaces the used game model instead of supplementing it. In it's own respects, the idea is great and if you disagree, tell me how the model could be better.

You guys really gotta stop being armchair businessmen. You think MS went into this thinking "Everyone is suddenly going to love this, especially when we're talking out used game?" No, they didn't. They probably knew the backlash was coming and are expecting to weather the storm. I agree with them on this. If you think these restrictions (which aren't as bad as some of you guys are making them) have decided the "console war" (still think this term is beyond stupid), you're severely delusional. It may be hard to grasp, but there are people who don't care. Yall call them sheeple, I call them people who just want a good gaming platform with some cool features and the X1 provides that just as well as the PS4.

Ever since the reveals, I've seen people on this forum embrace the hardcore gamer stereotype so well it makes me laugh awkwardly. I admit I got caught up in the rapture of the PS4 when I thought KH3 and FFXV were exclusive, but they're not and if you take that away, Sony's press conference wasn't anything more than "This is how we're not like the X1". They're riding high on that wave, but can they really bank on the idea that people are never going to buy an X1 because of the 24 hour thing connection test?

No. You'll be on your own gamertag. You'll have your own stuff.

From what it sounds like, I live with my gf. With Xbox One, it sounds like you only need one gold account per Xbox One, not per account. So even for she and I, she can play my games, and she can play online.

1. Exactly.

2. MS marketing/PR team has generally always sucked.

You cannot sell the disk, that is the whole issue smile.gif

The game is tied to the console so lets say you lend the game to your neighbor it wont work unless he/she is on that 10 person list.

well, you can, you just have to go through a authorized retailer. Which will most likely include the usual heavy hitters. Well the exact quote from IGN was that you could trade it in. Not sure if that excludes the usual games for cash or not, or just game for game swaps, or even in-store credit. Have to wait and see.

im 100% convinced you are a die hard xbox fan biggrin.gif

nothing wrong with that, I have a 360 that is used on the daily biggrin.gif

lets just wait n see if your demeanor changes once the console is released, i'm hoping for the best but don't really see much hope unless a few changes are made..

And that is where i don't agree with MS.. I pay for the game, I should be able to do what I please with it. Or they can just "rent" the game to us and then we cannot complain because it's rented. When you buy something it's yours, not half yours and half the company who sold it to you.
