which 7950 to go with (I hear Sapphire RMA has slipped?)

Thread Starter

I have been debating this all day and im have not been in the pc world for sometime now. Im building a new rig and im wondering which 7950 to go with. A few people told me that Sapphire cards are OR have had some issues with black screens n such and the RMA has slipped.

I was looking at the Sapphire Vapor-x with boost for $304.00. What else would you choose? I am a huge FAN of Customer support obviously. I dont want to many head aches with RMA if needed.

They're Intl for RMA if you have to do it, only had to once myself, but it wasn't such a bad experience (this was few years ago).
Service wasn't bad IMO, but if you want to stay domestic you can stick with MSI, PowerColor or HIS. XFX just stay away from, from a hardware and support standpoint.

MSI is serial based instead of registering if that makes a difference to you, otherwise just pick what card you like best.
I have the PCS+ 7950 and can't find one thing bad about it, it's silent as the grave and OCs just as well as TFIII for the most part.

EDIT:

There's also ASUS but they seem to be OOS lots of places, and they're support has been on a downturn over the past few years as you might have read.

I have a HD sapphire 7950 and have had no problems with it.
Overclocked to 1150 core out of the box its quiet with the dualx cooler too, much more quite than the msi 560ti with the twin frozr 3 cooler.

OP the problem you are talking of was present on sapphire HD 7870 cards. the sapphire HD 7950 is one of the best. get the dual x cooler model.

You may want to hold off another week or so for the GTX 760 launch. If it follows the GTX 770's precedent, it should be 5-10% faster than the GTX 670 at the $299 price point.

Even if you don't want to go green it may force AMD's hand in dropping their 7950 prices.

im not ordering my new rig until 2 weeks. So I will wait BUT i want to stick with AMD only because the games bundle I really want.
