Remember when the move to HD happened and you went over to someone's house who had an "HD" tv but they had EVERYTHING hooked up using coaxial or composite and didn't even have it at 1080i/720p/1080p and maybe even not even 480p!!! The odd thing is after you fix it they still couldn't even tell the difference between HD and non HD content. Some people really think low bit rate music and high bit rate music sounds the same because they cant discern the difference, others think DVD's and Bluray's look the same.

The point is I'm actually glad you guys can't notice it because it saves you tons of cash!!!! And as AMD further improves is it for the rare person who can notice all you guys get is an even SMOOTHER experience!! But yes those drivers issues exists and can be easily pointed out in charts but whether you perceive them of not varies person to person. Just hope that after you guys get the drivers fixed they never break again, because if they do you might notice it and it might bother you. thumb.gif

Well I've had Nvidia SLI and Tri SLI and there is no difference between them and the AMD crossfire setup I have now. Aside from MUCH better performance for a fraction of the price.

And by the way you really shouldn't go around calling people ignorant. Someday you'll do it to the wrong person thumb.gif So go back and enjoy the most overpriced over hyped cards in history smile.gif

I didn't mean it as an insult I merely stated that in this situation not knowing something or perceiving something is a good thing. Also being ignorant is not really an insult as pretty much everyone in this world is ignorant to many topics that they just don't know.

It's great you've tried both and it's good you can't tell the different but the facts remains that CF frame latency and stutter issues are there. Like I said only a small fraction of people can actual even tell so it's not like it's a big issue. It was overblown because a we could analyze the data to chart and graph it which ade it look much worse than it was since vast majority couldn't actually experience it.

Like I said I'm happy for you that it doesn't bother you, just don't say the issues aren't still there. New drivers have improved and will continue to improve the situation so it's not like I care about this non issue I just wanted things factual. thumb.gif

Thread Starter
listen the only reason i made the thread is because when i last checked, there was some serious serious issues with crossfire scaling and i wanted to make sure it was stable before i bought another one.

keep calm people.

i got the information i needed, thank you all.

also the 7950 i have now is a beast and could run most every game i have at high/ultra settings
i just want some more power, thats all. why? because i can do it.

We were by no means bashing you. Just talking about how the threads about all of this horrible stuttering / driver issues has made people afraid of crossfire. You as a consumer seen them and was worried and we were just trying to tell you that there are a ton of people with no issues at all. Now go buy that second 7950 and have some fun!!!

I must also comment-
Several cossfire setups over last two years-
Currently rocking 2 Sapphire 7950's @ 1100/1375 under Universal GPU coolers/heatsinks.
ONCE in a while there is a game or something that doesn't like CF
Otherwise its been awesome for ME>

Crossfire scale most of the time is 100%. Nvidia scale is awful. You should educate yourself better next time.

Also your game selection is extremely cpu dependent games so the cf scale will be low. Dota 2,sc2,planetside,RIFT

Like Sugarhell said scaling wise CF is actually superior to SLI almost across the board and for Titan there were a few scenarios where trifire 7970's were beating Tri Sli's Titans xD. SLI support was pretty funny at launch of titan because it was so bad.

But yeah on the CPU bound games, I found I got a better experience after my 2500k @4.7 -> 3930k @ 4.5 than my 7970 -> GTX Titan on Planetside. With both upgrades FPS went up but with the CPU upgrade my frames weren't plummeting down like they were with my quad. Planetside is not the norm as it's more of an extreme case of being CPU bound but most MMO's are also usually cpu bound as well.

I would say definitely get a second card, odds are you won't notice anything wrong and AMD drivers have been on a steady climb while NV's are trending down as of late.
