Cannot stop system from booting from old HHD

Hello everyone, so I recently upgrade my motherboard to a Sabertooth Z77, however I ran into a few issues with my SSD at first so to get the ball rolling I a HHD to load windows 7 onto. Once I completed that I cleared out the SSD and set it up as a MBT. Unhooked the HHD and only had the SSD installed, windows loaded perfectly fine onto the fresh SSD and all was good. However whenever I attempt to hook up my 2nd/3rd/4th HHD's it will override my "boot" selection and load from the HHD with windows on it.

I've gone into BIOS and disable all boot options except the Samsung 830, however I'm not sure what else I can do, because it just keeps booting from the HHD.

Could really use some help here.

when booted into windows go to disk management and mark the drive you want to boot to as active. That should do it.

I've been in that area, and didn't see anything to mark as active. Are you talking a "right click" option or is that in a menu? Also, should I do this when both are hooked up, or when only the SSD is loaded?

Did you change the BBS Priority? It's directly under the Boot Order.

Yes, as I said in original I set the SSD as the primary/only boot option

Okay. Was just making sure cause mine would do the same thing. It seems the board doesn't care what the boot order is, only what the BBS Priority is set to.

lol my issue is, seems like likes the HHD over the SSD. But I'm at work, so gonna try the setting as primary when I get off.

when all drives are in the system and the OS is booted off of one of them. Disk management > right click the drive's partition you want booted > mark partition as active.

Then make sure the boot priority is set to the drive in the BIOS.

Now I cannot even get the system to boot..lol I think I'll just buy new HHD's and have the data off these moved onto a 2TB external down the road. I know the data is safe, just gotta move it.
