Hey I got my friends laptop its having weird pixellated screen when i startup (running win7 32 bit) and Its being overheating a lot cannot touch the back of the lappie. I thought the solution for the pixellated screen would be Nvidia driver reinstall but nothing happened, the problem persists. And one more thing the laptop is not startingup unless plugged into external power source but not powering on battery. If I pull out the charging pin it switches off. What might be the matter with it.

Sounds like there are a few things wrong with it. If it is overheating you may want to dissemble the laptop and apply some new thermal paste the the CPU, i recommend arctic silver. The battery sounds like it can no longer withhold a charge and will need to be replaced if you want the portability. Also sounds like the LCD panel needs to be replaced. You can re install the driver over and over again but if there is something wrong with the LCD inverter or LCD panel it will need to be replaced.

Those DV series HP laptop are known to be bad machines that overheat and wreck havoc on the soldering on the motherboard as a result. i would personally recommend not pursuing any repairs and just replacing the machine.

Rep if this helps please.

Thanks for reply . Sorry i didnt mentioned the battery is new bought about a week ago. last time i disassembled it but didnt applied the thermal paste only cleared the vent and some dust on the board but it overheated well ! Hope the replacing parts will solve the problem. and even tried to connect the external monitor with hdmi cable to see if the problem is with gpu but it didnt showed anything on the monitor.
