I see what you're getting at, but let my ask you this - have you ever started a game so story driven, like Bioshock, left it for a while and come back? or played many other games at the same time? I can't do that, I lose interest in one of the games, or I forget important/key aspects of the story. but most of all, it breaks the immersion. I don't feel you can get into a game as much if you only play it in small chunks now and then while playing all these other games. single player games I mean. which is why I try play one game at a time, to get the most out of it.
due to my lifestyle, I mostly play single player games now. the minesite I work on may as well not have internet its that bad, mind you its out in the middle of the desert. and I'm away more than I'm home. so for me, playing more than one single player game at a time is like reading 3 books at once, it just doesn't work for me. gaming is a big part of my lifestyle, kind of an addiction, so I hate having so many games lying around waiting to be played. I'm usually really good at FPS games and finish them a lot sooner than the average, due to being able to beat them quicker.
I'm not struggling to finish Bioshock in terms of difficulty, and not saying I don't have enough time to play it. What I'm saying is, given my limited time I'm able to game at the moment, when a game has a long story, it has to really grab and inspire me or I find it a chore to complete. unfortunately, Bioshock Infinite started off well but has become a chore.
my solution - against what I just said, I have taken a short few days break from it to just chill and play something else, before jumping back in. Who knows, might be like one of those moments where you play a game for a long period and get stuck at one part, almost punch your monitor from frustration because you can't do it after 200 tries, so you just quit. then when you come back later, you get it first go and think, "why the hell was that so hard?"
