Forgetful question.

So OCing my 2500k on a new board (sabertooth Z77) And I've got the OC set at 4.7@ 1.390v stable. Got the clocks going back to 1.6 during 2d web surfing, but my voltage is stuck at 1.390v leaving idle temps a littler high.

Also wondering if anyone thinks 38c is a hot idle? But that's idling with 1.390v so maybe the TIM might not be off. believe it was around 32-33c based of my apartments ambient temp of 28c.

How are you cooling your CPU? The idle temps are a little on the hot side but nothing too bad. Try to dial down the voltage a little. I know the 2500k's are a hot running chip.

Those idles seem normal based on ambient. But are you using manual or offset voltage? It won't drop voltage down at idle if your using manual.

AHH! That's what I was forgetting. I was using manual!

Also running a H80 with the 2nd setting for noise control. So suppose that keeps me fairly in line. Also have a extra HHD sucking up some front intake, so that could add another 1c to the mix ^_^

Much better, a modest 33c at idle. Thanks for the refresher..lol Get forgetful when I don't gotta tweak the OC for 8 months..haha
