Why and what these temps on ASUS Probe and AIDA64?

Thread Starter
I'm thinking of doing some overclocking now that I fix a stability problem. Who knew a working Wifi Card could cause so many problems.

In ASUS probe I'm getting a temps:

CPU: 43.0 *C
MB: 37 *C

In AIDA64

Core 1 - 6: 24.0 *C
AUX 43.0 *C

Here is what I'm wondering. What's the deal with the CPUs temps being that different. And why is ASUS (CPU) and AIDA64 (AUX) temps the same? Are they reading the same Sensor?

Found this in a quick google search...
Quote:
Aux is simply an unassigned thermal input, which will typically read invalid values. When a hardware platform has no unassigned inputs, then Aux will instead read values from thermal sensors for memory, northbridge or southbridge chipset temperatures.

As for the difference in CPU temp, AI suite reads only socket temps while Aida64 reads the temperature for each individual core. Core temps is typically lower than socket temps.
