Still using i7-870 @ 4GHz with a gtx 670 card, big difference comming from stock cpu and a gtx 480 card. I only want to upgrade becuse of sata 3. So O.C that cpu and go for the 670.

Just FYI, the 750 has a base multiplier of 21x. With turbo going, it goes up to 24x on one core.

I'm using an i5-750 with GTX 770 (Gigabyte windforce OC). I see no problem with it. Just get a decent cooler and overclock it. I leave mine at 3.6ghz normal use with turbo boost (boost to 4.0GHZ).

Get Asus board. It has USB 3.0 and Sata 3 for LGA 1156

I have a hyper 212+ already so I should be fine there.
Also already have Asus P7P55D-E PRO wink.gif
Can you overclock just the boost mode to say 3.6 and have the regular clocks stay around 2.8?

It will still idle at low clocks, if that's what you mean.
You're not gonna be using turbo boost anymore if you OC.
If you have Speedstep and C-states enabled, turbo boost will still be enabled. For example, at a bclock of 150, You will be at 3.15 Ghz with all 4 cores stressed, and up to 3.6 with only 1 core stressed.
