Complex question about disks

Hi guys how are you?

I`m with a problem and i`ll try to explain here, it`s hard because my english is not so good and the issue is a little complex, at least for me smile.gif

I bought this ultrabook at US last week SVT15112CXS, i was at NY

So, this one i think that comes with that Hibrids HDs the total size of the disk is 750GB and 24GB is supossed to be the SSD one

But the factory system comes wth a lot of junk pre installed, so i decided to delete all the partitions and make a clean install

Now the problem begins, it shows for me 2 physical disks one with 24Gb and another one with the rest of the space

If i install the Windows in the 24GB one i just have avaiable after something about 2 gb free, and it stays with 2 disks and not only one like the factory system installed and what it is supossed to be

Now what should i do to fix/ make the right thing and stays with the only 1 disk that was in the factory? i really need to stay with one disk showing with the total ammount right? Is it really have 2 physical Hdds? I`m a newbie about this kind of things

Any help will be nice guys

Thanks

Easiest thing would be to call up your ultrabook manufacturer's support line.

The OS is to be installed on the HDD. Your Ultrabook uses a caching software that moves most used programs and files on to the 24GB SSD to speed up system responsiveness.

To fix your "issue" you should
  1. Reinstall the OS onto the HDD
  2. Download the ultrabook's caching software and set it up
  3. Then use your ultrabook like normal.

Edit: I think your software you use is listed on their site here: http://esupport.sony.com/US/p/model-home.pl?mdl=SVT15112CXS&template_id=1&region_id=1&tab=download#/downloadTab

Just installed but i can`t see any icon or something at control panel to switch on the cache

How do i know that the cache is working and how to enable it?

Thanks

try the acer one,

Two key items are needed for the ExpressCache install. The software from a different Vendor, and the files from the default system build. I have provided them for you at the following links:

ExpressCache Install: http://depositfiles.com/files/l73q0rizh
ExpressCache Acer Files: http://depositfiles.com/files/68vvduipq

Hopefully if you have made it this far, you don't need a guide on how to install software. The idea is simple:
1.) Install the Software using the installer from the ExpressCache Install link above. Don't worry if you get a message that says that it couldn't detect the SSD Drive to use. We will fix this later. Don't reboot when prompted to do so.
2.) Use the files in the ExpressCache Acer Files download link above to overwrite the ones that were created during the installation in step 1. (copy everything in that download the the program files folder) The location is: C:\Program Files\Condusiv Technologies\ExpressCache\. Once this is done, you may restart the computer.
*3.) If you happen to have restarted before completing step 2 above, all you have to do is stop the ExpressCache service and then do step 2. Start the service back up when completed.

Now that the ExpressCache software is installed, we need to make a decision. Do you want to use Intel Rapid Start? If you don't care about Rapid Start, the process is much easier. If you do, then go down to the Rapid Start with ExpressCache Instructions.

ExpressCache Only:

1.) Open an elevated command prompt and type diskpart.
2.) type "list disk" (note the drive number of the SSD).
3.) type "select disk n" (n= the drive number found above)
4.) type "clean"
5.) type "exit"
6.) Now that you are back to the normal command prompt, lets navigate to the ExpressCache directory. Do this by typing "cd C:\Program Files\Condusiv Technologies\ExpressCache\"
7.) type "ECCmd -partition" (this tells ExpressCache to use the whole SSD drive)
8.) Your DONE! to confirm that it is working, you can type "ECCmd -info" and ensure that it starts showing you some caching statistics.

If anything I may be able to help you via teamviewer if you want some time.
