I very specifically compared launch 360 games to current 360 games. Look at Oblivion vs Skyrim. Even first-party it's a huge problem, because it's just the nature of the entire software industry that very few people are trying to change. There are tricks people don't learn quickly. Cloud computing is going to be in full steam by when those tricks start mattering, and the Xbox One has a huge lead in it. The infrastructure will be there for asynchronous cloud computing, I really think Sony is going to regret betting on Gaikai, the imput lag from streaming is crippling and even the best internet possible is still slowed by the speed of light.
The bolded reason is why I will not buy digital content on a console, yes they should but will they? Who knows.
And it's a fair objection, but even then, if M$ doesn't do it, it'll be done by hackers eventually. Whether they manage it before the Xbox One's successor is doubtful, but 10-15 years down the road it'll absolutely be there if M$ shuts off Xbox One support.
