Thread Starter
Ok so i might buy a Wii for Christmas or sometime..(btw anyone know were to get one from Uk..any place with stock)...so yea i was just wondering how good are the motion detectors in the Wii. Just say for instance im playing that samurai game..and i move my hand in a circle motion or figure 8 or something...would the same thing happen on screen??..or are there just set movements?

It depends on the game. Twilight Princess, for example, uses set movements while Wii Sports (bundled in US, but purchased separately in Europe) uses direct movements.

So the sensor bar is certainly capable of translating direct movements, just not all games implement it. The game you are talking about, Red Steel, has direct translation. So if you tilt the controller to the right, the gun in your hand on screen will tilt to the right.

Yeah, but its a ****y game tho, so i'd recommend somehtnig else. Wii really shines the most as a 'same room' multiplayer console. Wii Sports and Rayman are really REALLY bloody fun in small groups!!

Red Steel seems good in theory but i just cant bring myself to enjoy it. I guess in the back of my head all I could think of was "this would look and play better on my PC with a KB/Mouse combo". Whereas the other titles really lend themselves to the Wiimote and 'chuck.
