RX V467 Receiver 5.1 surround sound, adding a second amp to make it 7.1

Thread Starter
I have a 5.1 receiver but it has the ability to do surround back left and right if I use a second amplifier, it has 1 rca out for the left and one for the right

Could I use this T-AMP http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=300-383 to power them or what should I look into?

or should I just save the 80$ and sell my receiver and get a new one.

i dont think that these connections are for a 7.1 setup

these are pre-outs for active speakers like yamaha hs50m or krk rockit instead
of using normal passive speakers.

you`d better save your money for a 7.1 amp

My manual says there for passive speakers that have a different amp

Pre-outs send line level signal.

Both active speakers or separate amp (with passive speakers)
have line level inputs.

It will work fine
Add a t-amp and the volume should still be set to the receiver but your still going to have to turn the t-amp to match the rest of your speakers.
Just sucks there is no easy way to turn the t-amp off unless that receiver has 120v switch for outlets.

I turn my receiver on and off with a light switch so im sure i could hook the t amp up the same way?
