I just ordered those two parts and realized I didn't check if that video card would fit on that board. Can anyone tell me if that will work?

Great! Do you think I can run BF3 at full 1080p with an fx-4100 and that video card?

Maybe at low-medium settings it should handle it at around 30fps you should have gone with the 7790 or the 7850

I play BF3 SP, Co-op, and MP with my 7770 at 1080 medium settings no problems. got it paired with a Phenom II X4 4GHz. Just got done playing HAWX, Red Faction, PS2, and BF3 using 13.5 today. I spend more time with it than my 7970. True story.smile.gif

No you can probably play it on High settings with no anti-aliasing and get good frames.

Your board is not suited to overclocking so your processor won't be overclocked which unfortunately would benefit you in a CPU intensive game such as battlefield 3. Alas! Money does not grow on trees.

then i guess your 7970 was a waste of money lol why pay $400+ if youre going to play with a $100 card?

+1 for medium settings.
My GF's PC has an unlocked Phenom II B73 (@ X4 2.8 GHz) with a 7770, it's pretty playable in BF3 at medium settings with no/low AA.

At this point in time you could probably find a better deal on something like a 7850 and get a bit more performance for your dollar, though.
