Stupid question: Thermaltake Volcano

K, so I got a Volcano free with my BigWater 745 and figured "sweet... more surface area ftw". Now Im thinking that mounting it on a mobo in a tower (meaning the mobo is sitting flat vertically against the side of the case) will create a dangerous amount of torque on the board. I know it comes with a bracket, but just for fun, tell me Im crazy and it will be fine.

I also have the stock waterblock that came with the 745 kit and Im thinking of just using the stocker instead of the volcano. But the Volcano is awesome looking and it would suck to not use it.

Waddaya think?

it shouldn't do any damage if mounted properly. But if you are still worried, you can get some velcro straps and loop them through it somewhere and glue them to the top of your case.

Yeah, or use Zip Ties. Maybe mount some kind of U-shaped screw to the top of the case with a bolt and run the zip-ties through it. (I can't remember what those screws are called exactly right offhand, check Westlakes Screw Bins)

My favorite motto is "If you can't hide it, celebrate it"!! Meaning the bolts that will be coming out the top of your PC case.

Yeah, I was actually thinking of making another bracket to pick up the mounting holes (the Volcano actually comes predrilled for 2 70 or 80mm fans on either side of the exchanger) at the top and then drilling some holes in the big stock crossbrace.

It would be a bit more professional than zipties =P
But hey... zipties have never let me down before =D

I gotta give TT props on the deisgn of this case.
Now that Ive been inside it quite a bit I keep noticing really nice features, like the way the crossbrace is designed.
I could drop this thing on the street on my way to a LAN (although it's not likely that I would lug this beast to a LAN) and not warp the case.
