XSPC Raystorm 1155 Backplate Issues

Wondering if anybody has found a fix or any suggestions to remedy newer XSPC Raystorm backplate for 1155. This wb is a real pita to install.
I had a Raystorm wb for my AM3 chip and it was so much easier. Looking at the 1155, it seems like the posts are too short or just a horrible newer backplate design. The backplate shown in the instructions looks like it works around the stock mounting for the cpu. The one I received( picked by process of elimination, wasn't other 2 shown) fits over and the threaded sleeves do fit into the heatsink mounting holes, but when posts are installed, it is extremely hard to engage the threads and the springs are fully compressed without adjusting thumbscrews. Something just doesn't seem right. Am I doing wrong? I don't see how. I enjoy trying new cpu's and don't want to have to buy another wb. There has to be some work around.

This happens if the bottom but is already screwed tight on the posts. First loosen all the nuts on the post and you should be ready to go. Basically there are two nuts on each post. Make sure they are both loose. They should both be at the top most position.

I know how to install it and did so. Not the issue. Also note he is installing a 1366 backplate, not 1155
