Not sure if that is the case but This video from Linustechtips does suggest using a AIO which are of the slimmer variety.

The FT03 (MATX) while larger in volume is still fairly small footprint. which allows for thicker Rads and improved airflow.

yeah the 3.5" drives will fit with a thin radiator. but mine is an h80 style
