Help On Headphone and DAC Change (Sennheiser)

Is $150 a good price for a used Sennheiser HD 558?

I love my HD 595 to death, but they got physically damaged.

I think the HD598s look ugly and I don't think I would notice the sound improvement.
I'm not an audiophile, but I do like having professional grade cans.

Also, would it be worth trading out a Earforce DSS for a FiiO D3?
I would lose AC3 (Dolby Digital) bit-streaming, but it might be worth it if the FiiO is a better DAC.

Ehhh.

For 150 you can find some HD580s which are arguably better than the 595s. For a little bit more, you can try and get lucky and find some HD600s ~200

Also, the FiiO D3 is OK for 20 bucks or maybe even a trade, but test it first. I toyed around with one for a day or two. For 15 bucks (on sale) it did it's job. I can't say that I would call it hi-fi but it certainly isn't bad all things considered.
