AMD RAM Controller?

Thread Starter
I was talking to a buddy who's big into computers (he's from Sweeden so his english sometimes lacks)

Right now I have 1GB of OCz Premier Series RAM (2x 512MB) with CAS 2.5 - 3 - 3 - 7. The Rams ID is OCZ4001024PDC-K.

I bought a second 1GB for x-mas (same ID) and its 2x 512MB and anyways my sweedish buddy was saying that when I put the ram in AMD RAM controller or something will turn it down to 133MHz or something because I have 4x 512MB chips taking all my slots.

Is this true and is it fixable?

Thanks

He is referring to the fact that most A64 systems will downclock ddr400 to ddr333 when more than 2 sticks are present. Depending on the board, this can be corrected.

I don't think that it will go to 133MHz.. it'll just go down to 2T timings rather than 1T which, the difference isn't really noticable anyway.

I think that's right anyway/
