DDR4 and an 8 core CPU with a new chipset sounds super nice.
Will be interesting none the less to see how hot these get with extra cores and the VRMs in the die. Either way it's so far away I'll continue to focus on X79 and Sandy-e. No point sitting around dreaming for the next 12 months. I need to build a 4K rig for BF4.
Well no one is forcing you to upgrade to IB-E
Haswell-E will not come as quickly. Especially since IB-E has yet to come out even though IB is out for a while now.
Intel are trying to milk it dry in the EP and extreme departments as much as they can. If they bring out Haswell-E now, they will most likely bring issues with their current server CPUs, as they will want companies to upgrade to IB-EP instead of waiting for Haswell-EP.
IB-E will come soon and live for a year to milk the last IB-EP chips dry, and a bit after Haswell get a refresh, Haswell-E will come out.
