Why not? Buying the best, most durable motherboard is NEVER a bad idea. I am a firm believer and proponent that you should buy the best motherboard you can afford because its the foundation of your entire rig. Having the best, most durable motherboard will give a lot greater odds that itll run nice and smooth for a long time and stand up to a lot of abuse for a long time as well.
But the biggest reason is that Bulldozer, Piledriver and Steamroller will all work on AM3+ so why not buy a motherboard with an eye to the future? Buy the best one you can get now and then next year, drop a Steamroller on there with little more than a BIOS update and youre set!
Now if this is going to be a email and Facebook machine with no overclocking then I totally agree with you that a Sabertooth would be spending money on features youll never need or use. But if there is to be any overclocking done and this isnt going to be a throw-away rig, I see no reason why you wouldnt want the best you could get.
