What are dust issues like with this case due to no front/top dust filters?
Hey guys, I'm gonna be purchasing a 350D soon; however, I have an H100 to install and would still like to use my optical disk for ripping music from CD's and would also like to remove the HDD cage to improve airflow to my GPU.

So, what's the best method to mount an HDD and SSD to one of the 5.25 bays? I want something that can secure at least one HDD and one SSD, so those single 3.5-to-5.25 mounts are out of the question. The Orico mounts look kind of cool but only work with one 3.5 drive at a time. Would this fit in the top slot, or would it conflict with the installed optical drive in the below slot?

If that's the case, could I just use some twist ties and a sliding mount and tie it up above the optical drive? Or is there a slimmer optical drive that I can install instead? My only requirements are that it can scan and burn at 24x. Sorry about all of the questions.

Hold on, I've got an idea. I could just mount the H100 to the front of the case like this. I've heard that there are minor airflow/turbulence issues with two 140mm fans in the front with the 350D anyway, so the 2x120mm size of the H100 would fix this and I could move the two 140mm fans to the top. If I move the 140's to the top, would the optical drive still fit in the top slot? It looks like the fans are in the way but the optical drive doesn't go all the way to the top of the case. If it could, then I could put the Silverstone HDD mount in the second slot and everything would be perfect.

Also, how should I orient the fans? The image shows the front as intakes and the rear and top as outtakes. Why is the heat from the CPU entering the case? I'm using Cougar fans for reference. Thanks!

i have said this earlier but.....
the filters on the front work ok, i have alot of dust building up on the front fans, the best way to help keep dust out of the top, is either have it set up as an exhaust fan... or go to your local hardware store and look for filter cloth. i bought it at about $1 per foot from my local home depot. or you can use screening from screen doors (might not work great, but keeps big chunks of dirt and hair from finding its way in there) if you want to see that i am talking about take a look at my photos, there should be one of both the back and the top of the case. it looks pretty, and you can wash it easily (but you have to dry it after). good luck with your builds everyone.

Now, how should I orient the fans? Have the front and top be outtakes and the rear be intake?

so for the ssd, you can mount it around back where the wire management it. or you can leave the 2.5 in caddies in and install a laptops 1tb and ssd.. as for a cd drive if your only going to use it occasionally here is a cheap suggestion:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827135256

Also the 2.5 in caddies is a 3 piece deal you can take 2 out if you only have on 2.5 in hdd/ ssd. i have the back as exhaust and top and front as intake (for top you will need filter). i am not sure about your configuration. but under full load and completely air cooled, it sits at about 55. might max at 70 after about 4 hours of full load (top fans are rarely on) but for my setup the system runs at about 25-40 degrees (depending on how cold it is out side)

the 140 mm work great up top. since 140 mm fans are better for airflow. i currently have 2 120mm corsair pwm fans up front (lack of stock when i bought them) but the 120mm fans have much better static pressure

Also, the clip on the left side of the fascia that helps pop the aluminium front plate on and off doesn't work properly. I created 2 RMA tickets with Corsair more than 2 weeks ago and have yet to hear back from them. Also dropped George from Corsair a pm here on OCN but haven't heard back. I'm really hoping they can put things right as I've heard of their legendary service but this is seriously disappointing. Anyone have any advice on what I can do next?

Cant help on the USB issue but the other one which you mention, is it the clip on the left? I experience a similar issue with that a few days after i got the case. It doesnt sprint out completely, notice that on this particular clip, either the left/right side is causing some sort of obstruction. I did however use my fingernail to press down that part every time it happens and now the problem is gone.

Attached a image to show u that spot.

Press it from inbetween the clip. It will sprint back out.

Like what was mention, set the top fan as an exhaust..

I'm doing this and had to use a cloth to cover it when i shut down the system to go sleep. But have gotten myself a Demciflex Filter set for the 350D. Definitely restrict abit of the airflow but traps dust much better than the stock filters.

Not that hard actually:

Need to remove all the covers and the like of course, but if you take a look about, you'll see some screws, I think four, located around the IO panel. Slide it out of the way, and the the cover can be slipped off - you'll see tabs inside the case. Mask it off, and paint away. smile.gif
