Red Dwarf. This name from the TV series?

If I remember correctly from my build, there should be some of the long screws needed in the accessories box that came with the case. Might try looking there again.

FIRST OFF DON'T INVEST IN A DEAD PLATFORM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ok sorry needed to say that, in that fashion

Q3 Haswell E will be released with 8 Cores instead of the Ivy E 6 and probably for a near dead price range.
Advantages to waiting for X99 is DDR4 RAM, 8-Cores, and a full and better PCIe rendition, also there is rumors of the new SATA revision as well.

will you actually utilise 8c/16t? pretty much only workstations can make use of it... and the only thing which will be more expensive than a x99 mobo is the ddr4 dimms you decide to slot into it. tongue.gif

Same thing happened to me actually, with my side window. When I took off the protective film,it had a mark of sorts..but I said what the heck,it's a rather small one..
And then, when I was tinkering with my case,I tried to clean it up with a non microfiber cloth and it became full of scratches!!!!!!Luckily I was suggested a plastic polish cream from a member of this thread, and it looks better now..But if I wanted a new panel, tough luck,Corsair doesn't deliver in Greece as far as I can tell from their website..
Hope it works out for you flawlessly, man. And don't forget, you can always ask a Corsair Rep here in the forum for help..They'll at least answer all your questions faster,I think..

Cheers dude thumb.gif You're a sound guy.

Sorry to hear it has happened to you too. They really need to improve their packaging or QC at their factories. That sucks that they don't ship to Greece- that is disgraceful if they don't, their EU base should ship everywhere in Europe. Something I have noticed with Corsair is you have to keep chasing them up. Have you called them using their toll free number and Skype? Or their live chat?

I don't suppose you could recommend that plastic polish? It sounds like the plastic is very soft if it scratches from a microfiber cloth! I don't want to go scratching the side panel whilst cleaning it!

So because yours didn't arrive scratched, that must mean it is the retailers fault? Is that your argument? because if it is, it doesn't hold any water.

Once again, it was not the retailers who made/ designed the case. It was not the retailers who decided not to protect both sides of the window panel. It was not the retailers who designed the protective packaging. It is not the retailer who does the QC.

I have bought so many computer components I don't even want to think about it, every time I do, I get this pain in my wallet.

100s. Every different types of component you can think of, from lots of different retailers. None of them arrived damage, why? because they were all adequately packaged.

Retailers do not package. Any company worth it's salt know items get knocked about during shipping so they make sure the protective packaging is adequate.

Exactly, just rumors. 8 cores would be nice and all, but hardly anything ultalises 4 cores, let alone 8 and just how much do you expect DDR4 RAM to cost? I think you have unrealistic expectations about cost here. E platform is already a pricey platform and then add DDR4 on the top of that.

A dead platform? I see no logic in that, all platforms have a short lifespan including Ivy-E. If you forever wait for the latest and greatest in tech, you will never end up buying anything- there is always something newer and better around the corner.

I am happy with my new build it will tide me over for a few years, at which point DRR4 prices will have dropped and more programs & games will be utilising more cores. I could of waited to buy Ivy-E but then I thought, no thanks to the early adopter premium.

The screws included are for mounting the fan from the back,If i understand it correctly, and not the front..You need longer screws for that, the type that you usually use for mounting fans on radiators..If you live in Europe try here:

No,man I haven't tried it yet...My side panel looks more or less okay now,and In some other questions I had,the Corsair Reps helped me out...I'm planning to mod it a little in the future(the side panel, that is),and maybe make a new custom plastic window,I don't know yet...
Now,you be careful with cleaning..The thing is that you HAVE to use a microfiber cloth, the way I understand it,not the other way around... tongue.gif
Hey,when you're finished with your build,post pics!!!!!!
I took this members' advice and it worked out for me pretty well, hope it helps you too in the future..

No if you bothered to read correctly you'd see i mentioned the same product in mint condition from various retailers yet you had a problem from your one retailer. No need to get uptight I'm just trying to help you eliminate variables and get to the bottom of this I don't know why you're taking it personally.

Just because yours DID arrived scratched it must be Corsair and no other possibilities? If your theory of it being Corsairs fault 'holds water' then why is it such a small percentage of cases that arrive damaged? Wouldn't all of them have the same packaging leading to the same damage? How can you even compare DOA electronics to a plastic/metal case? LOL

ok sorry needed to say that, in that fashion

Q3 Haswell E will be released with 8 Cores instead of the Ivy E 6 and probably for a near dead price range.
Advantages to waiting for X99 is DDR4 RAM, 8-Cores, and a full and better PCIe rendition, also there is rumors of the new SATA revision as well.

According to rumours the biggest feature to come out of the next gen is native M.2 SSD support? If you have a z87 RoG board you already have M.2 support wink.gif
DDR4 would be the next big thing but I haven't read much on that yet nor do I think it's worth it just yet. DDR3 prices are high as it is, imagine DDR4.

And given the chance, thanks again sebar for your help!!!

Thanks mate +REP. I'll check that polish out, did you order it from Amazon.com? I can find it on Amazon.co.uk but only from 3rd party sellers.

I will do, I'll post pictures soon, just need to tweak the cabling a little! Just booted her up for the first time today. This is my first post on Red Dwarf biggrin.gif
