Nope you can't easily remove it unfortunately. I learned that after I bought the case but it has really grown on me since then even with the drive bay cage being useless to me. The 5.25 drive bay housing is attached to the chassis. You would have to cut it off and remove a few screws. Really, it doesn't look all that difficult to do if you absolutely have to have it off.

This is someone else's 350d modding project. You would have to cut it off in the picture's highlighted areas.

Edit: You posted just as I did, well that doesn't look too bad, I guess you just can't put them back on after that... Thanks for the reply and nice rig thumb.gif

Thank you! I may eventually remove the cage also when I'm ready for watercooling.

But, yup, that's pretty much a permanent mod unless of course you know how to weld or want to reattach it with duct tape.tongue.gif

It's not that hard to remove it. It's just rivets that you need to take out. You can use pliers (like what I did the first time I removed rivets on my CM Storm Scout) or drill the center of the rivets using a small drill bit to take the rivets off. You can keep the piece just in case you wanna put it back.

You don't need to cut the drive cage. Just remove the rivets. There's 4 rivet's (2 big & 2 small) on each sides. There's also rivets on the front that you need to take out.

Why is it cut on this 350d? I looked at my drive cage briefly before assembling and while I saw the rivets, it also appeared to be attached to the case. Have you detached your cage? because if you had that would be a clear answer that you wouldn't need to cut it at all. It just looks to me like you will have to cut.
