Clean install of Windows 7 freezing

Thread Starter
Hi!

A while ago I started experiencing computer freezes. My cursor would freeze, keyboard input did nothing, ctrl+alt+delete did nothing, alt tab did nothing, etc. I would have to manually restart. So I reformatted, a clean install of Windows 7 x64. But instead of resolving the issue it seems to have gotten worse.

The computer will have little freezes a few times a minute, where the computer will hang for a few seconds, and occasionally a big freeze, where I need to manually reboot.

I have no idea how to figure out what is causing this. Is it a Windows problem? Is my SSD dying?

  • Intel i5 2500k
  • 2x4 GB Gskill
  • nvidia geforce gtx 560ti
  • ~100GB Crucial SSD
  • Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

If you need any more info just ask! Thanks in advance!

I had some of these problems you mentioned but I did a re-format and it went away.... Can I suggest 2 things possibly? 1st you may have caught a virus if so either format your harddrive and erase it completely or you can possibly buy a new harddrive that should solve your problem. If not are you running any kind of overclock on your system? That kinda sounds like your system is unstable try resesting to the factory settings and see what happens then-If it still freezes. Report back in:thumb:
