Will a i7 4770k bottleneck on Gtx 680 in sli?

So yeah, I plan on upgrading my rig next month, when asus released the vi formula. Im just wondering if the 4770k will in anyway bottleneck x2 gtx 680 in SLI, I plan on OCing the CPU to atleast 4.5k, or something around that. Its all gonna be watercooled so heat is not an issue. rolleyes.gif

- First post o/

Edit: Would would give best performance, buying a 780 and using my current 680 as a physx gpu or just going sli 680? smile.gif - Gonna be using this on x3 1920x1080 res.

It will not bottleneck. 1 generation difference of a CPU will not bottleneck a previous generation GPU, like, ever.

Keep your 2 680s and wait until next generation GPU to upgrade.

It will absolutely not bottleneck it. I've been using a 2500k at 4.6 with SLI 770 without issues. I'm on a 4670k at 4.4 with the same SLI now and I've only seen an increase in performance.

Edit: I realize it's not the same GPUs, but I would imagine the strain on the CPU is about the same for 770/680.

Hey guys

I want to know if a stock i7-4770k at 3.5Ghz-3.9Ghz will bottleneck two GTX 780s SLI on a 1440p Monitor ?

Or I will need to overclock it ?

Thanks wink.gif
