How about reading my posts?

Let's say you're trying to track someone and the warping from jitter is moving your crosshair left and right as you track. If you lower the DPI, you still get warping, because the sensor locks to particular speeds in its efforts to stay aligned to the grid.

Math tells us that as long as the jitter is visible, the jitter will overtake the quantization. Once the quantization overtakes the jitter, the quantization's own warping overtakes the strength of the jitter's warping. This quantization is different from quantizing the raw deltas (it's sort of error-diffuse), but it still has the same rules.

Nothing sideways about that.

Wrong.

debatable. imo this is only true if you're using very high sens and/or a very jittery sensor (3050).

for 3366 though, the jitter is so small and regular that it's basically never a problem

Ever wanted the Sensei with a 3310?
FM pcb, 1000hz. I'll try to get one when it is available.

So that's the "Tournament Pro" PCB? That mouse could be so much lighter. Why the hell is the FM so expensive if the factory is using their PCB for other products? Also, why doesn't the FM mice have 1000Hz?

He was talking about sensor jitter and his point is that it's internally the same regardless of CPI.

You only need to worry about granularity until your bullets disappear, which I don't know exactly how many units that is, but LONG Dust 2 is one of the farthest, if not the farthest spot in any competitively viable maps ATM.
You can check with MouseTester whether it performs the same. Should do I guess.

I was joking about the video. With the type of stuff out there your video doesn't even really register on the "misinformation" scale in comparison.

And I argue you already can stop worrying about granularity at sensitivies 1-3 (or looking at the angular space of a model head again: up to 10.2 sensitivity), which are more than feasible at 400cpi. Beyond that granularity won't improve your aim (even at 1-3sens there are factors that influence you hitting or missing a player model more than whether you are aimed perfectly on the distance where granularity would start playing a role).

@qsxcv: What is the jitteriest piece of sh-ensor you know? Would be interesting to see for myself what feels worse; unmasked jitter at high CPI albeit low in-game sensitivity or the quantization at CPI that hides that jitter that comes with the increased in-game sens.

@wareya: Your argument is assuming that sensitivity is increased accordingly to make up for the CPI difference though, right? If you only reduce CPI but keep the same in-game sensitivity, you get less jitter in the counts from the sensor (i. e. masking) but still have an equally as fine grid, no?

I'm assuming he's the second guy with the red on the headphones? Looks like rival 100.

I figured it was obvious since it's the only mouse we can see in the picture biggrin.gif can't believe I didn't think of the rival 100, considering I bought one last week... thanks thumb.gif
