Overclocking using core ratio limit (3570k + MSI Z77 G45)

Hello OCN I need help

I want to finally leave OC Genie behind and jump from 4.2 to 4.6 Ghz with my 3570k

BUT I want to keep all the power saving options

I have read that you can achieve that with "turbo multiplier" or core ratio limit

right now OC Genie use 1.28 vcore to reach 4.2Ghz stable.

this is my bios:

settings I need to change to use the core ratio limit overclok ??

thanks

You should just be able to change your CPU ratio from auto to 46 (46x100MHz = 4.6GHz) and then change your CPU voltage to offset mode. After that, it is a matter of upping the offset until you can pass a nice long run through a stress test with no problems. BF3 also seems to find any instabilities as well though this should not replace a standard stress test.

Edit: You also may have to increase the long duration power limit to accommodate this overclock.
