need help overclocking my amd cpu - Page 2

TC, upgrade your CPU to that dual-core I linked to and think about grabbing a 7750 or something more powerful in small form factor and you will be peachy. (assuming your PSU can handle it)

Well 4GB of RAM is barely enough for Windows itself let alone a game on top of it. Also, your GPU does not exceed the minimum recommended requirements for the game. I looked up the requirements for Resident Evil 5 and they are recommending at least a 4870 to play the game decently. The 4870 is a lot more powerful than the 6450. It was the most powerful single core GPU of the 4000 series whilst your GPU is the weakest GPU in the 6000 series. Don't pay attention to the series numbers. They only measure performance within their own series. In the 6000 series you would need at least a 6770 to match the power of the 4870.

Windows adjusts and 4GB of RAM is more than enough. I'm idling here with Steam, Firefox with several tabs open and many background apps on 8GB of RAM and using 2.8GB. It would be 1.9 without Firefox, and probably closer to 1 if I had 4GB of RAM. I don't think that a lot of games will benefit from over 4GB of RAM at the moment, but future games will (i.e. BF3 likes 8GB, and only at very high settings). So, yeah, 8GB is ideal, but 4GB is not bad at all.
