I'm torn between this motherboard and the EVGA Z87 Stinger.
The audio sounds like it's going to be a deal-breaker. Here's the thing; I've got a pair of K702's and I have a separate headphone amp that I'll be using.
So, the amp on the soundcard is meaningless to me. I only care about the DAC of the chipset, and the SNR is important too since I'll be amplifying the signal coming out of the sound card. So for people experiencing the weird leveling issues, when does this occur? Is it only at high volume? Is anybody using an external amplifier and getting good results out of this motherboard? I'm really leaning toward the EVGA if this audio thing is a serious issue.
I don't own (nor care to own) an external DAC, so the onboard one better be able to perform without messing with levels or doing any weird things. It just needs to convert digital signals to analog audio output for my amp, with very little noise, and my amp does the rest.Edited by Heuristic - 11/30/13 at 6:11pm
