I shouldn't have to. Sorry if this offends you, but external DACs are a sham. Onboard chips should be able to provide perfectly clear digital to analog conversion. You shouldn't have to buy a dongle to do a thing that your onboard card should do just fine; after all, that external DAC you have just has, you guessed it, an integrated chip DAC. Same as an onboard solution. If the DAC in my iPhone can perform flawlessly, the DAC on a motherboard should be more than adequate.
The only thing I'm worried about is varying gain, so I'm trying to figure out what exactly people are experiencing with this motherboard.
