Q-code A2 description from the manual says "IDE Detect", and that to me says your hard drive/SSD might be toast.

I would remove the CPU and check to make sure that a pin didn't get bent in the socket then personally. Since you already said you cleared the CMOS, no need to do that again, and guessing you've already tried the ram in the other slot and tried a different stick of ram? So check the CPU socket and make sure you didn't bend a pin putting the system together.

Can't get the search function to work. Does the CM Hyper 212 EVO fit on this board?

Evening All,

Quick finding for those who had issues with the fan chassis connectors on the Asus Max. VI Impact. So I was going left, right, up, down, and in all other directions trying to figure out why the fan chassis 2 & 3 were allowing me to control speeds and temp charts, but fan chassis 1 was not. I was simply receiving no signal (?) behind AI Suite 3 (Fan Xpert 2), despite CPU Q-Fan control advanced mode being enabled and readings coming in behind the BIOS. In the end, it was simply a matter of having the AI Suite 3 Fan Xpert 2 re-scan the fan configuration to determine optimal speed settings! I had no idea a new scan was required with a newly attached fan. Hopefully this saves some people time smile.gif Many probably already know this, but I just wanted to share in case not!

Question for you guys, I just purchased this motherboard, and doing a usb install of windows 8. What happens is all usb ports for keyboard and mouse work perfect at bios screen. but when initiating startup to windows install, once at the setup screen for windows 8.1, the mouse and keyboard stop working. I am almost 100% sure its an issue with like legacy usb or it handoff, but i cannot figure it out

suggestions ?thumb.gif

Hey there Wig., I had this issue with an older build. I had to push the os back to 8 from 8.1. After I did that, I installed factory downloaded mouse and keyboard drivers, then proceeded with the 8.1 bump. The os drivers in the upgrade made my mouse disappear and keyboard not function. I too had functionality in the bios.

yea im really stumped on this. I've tried every usb setting configuration i can think of.

Hey Wig,

I know it'll sound somewhat "IT 101 elementary", but have you tried another keyboard and or mouse? Also, different USB inputs?

Thinking of alternative solutions... the Windows 8.1 to 8.0 downgrade did it for me =/
