Zosma or HD 6950 2GB --Upgrade time--? - Page 3

If I were you I will wait. Upgrading for games that isn't come up yet is recipe for disaster. Wait until the game comes out first and see whether the performance improvement over your current hardware warrants an upgrade.

Playing the waiting game also benefits one other thing; new hardware might come out and/or prices of current hardware drops wink.gif

I'd find another 6950 cheap on a swaplist and put it with the one I had. 6950x2 is around 7970 performance, although you'd take a 5-10 percent performance hit from crossfiring on a 970 motherboard. It would still be very strong.

You should be able to do better than 3.5 on a 960T with a 212 Plus. I made 3.6 with a 212 Plus and a locked 1035T. I'd set the 960T for quad-core operation and try to get up near 4 GHz with it. With Phenom II X4 near 4 GHz and 6950x2, you'd take a big leap forward performance-wise.

hello,
what I would do is, get a cheap or even used 6950 to crossfire, then buy an xspc water cooling kit. thumb.gif
just think of the noise reduction on the air cooler, peace sleepysmileyanim.gif
