Lets say you have 30$, you can buy a second hand game, sell it, buy another for the same price, sell it again, buy another for the same price, and so on. And its only possible with PS4.
On X1, you can buy one second hand game, and than spend another 30$ for another, and than spend another 30$ for another. Once you bought them second hand, its money spend and never returned.
And lets say you bought 10 new games on disc. You can either sell them for 30$ each on PS4, or give them to friends who will not pay you 30$ per game unless they are morons (in which case tell them its SE and sell for 50$!).
Or lets say you bought 10 used games on disc. You can either sell them for 30$ if you have PS4, or ..... well nothing. X1 doesn't have a choice here.
Yes, going into the next gen, the buyer of used games gets shafted. However, they can still purchase the used game at a discounted price.
And how is trading a Xbox One game for money "giving" but trading a PS4 game for money is "selling." In both cases, the original owner of the game is SELLING.
On the Xbox One, let's say you're tired of your game, and your buddy is getting tired of his. Your game is newer than this though, so you tell him, "hey, I'll give you my game if you give me your game and $10 bucks on top of that" Mind you, this is all digitally. Critique is all you want, but as of now, it'll be the only digital platform that you can do that on. Or my friend has a game I want and he's already maxed out his 10 family friends, I can tell him,"hey can you give me that game when you're done with it?" If he says "nehhh", I can persuade him with $20 bucks. In which case, he is SELLING me his game. Just as you would with your previous physical copies. Just because you're selling a game digitally doesn't mean we need to wire money to each other digitally. He can give me cash, then when he gets back to his Xbox One, he'll have a new game license waiting for him.
