browser that uses least amount of resources?

In order to play battlefield 3 you have to use your browser. I am attempting to make the game run better by using less system resources. At the moment I am using firefox with a bunch of plugins. What browser uses little resources?

I switched from Chrome to Firefox to improve memory use. Not sure how the new IE is.

Technically, my own browser Atom uses half as much resources as Chrome. But it's not finished yet... smile.gif

If Chrome memory use is hampering your resources then seriously consider a memory upgrade if possible, 8GB total should do it.

Doesn't really matter that much..... the browser should be using neligible CPU cycles and the OS can move the utilized memory to the swap file.

As for a browser that uses the least amount of resources? It would probably be Lynx... but it's a text-based browser. I wonder what BF3 would do.... smile.gif

Wait, FF uses LESS resources than Chrome? I was unaware of this. I thought Chrome was plenty light.

Common misconception. Their engine runs JS faster. Which led them to marketing it as the "fastest" browser. Which led people into thinking the program runs fast.
In fact, IE uses the least resources.
