Ya, that is where I got the idea from. I will take a look back at the thread again since I am not sure if he used MDPC sleeving. For the life of me I cannot get the SATA or USB sized sleeving from MDPC over that connector (after I split and removed it).

There was a question in the Caselabs owners thread about the flex mount interference with the Alphacool rads threaded ports. I wanted to leave a few pics of what I ran into during my build.

Long story short for me was the need for some 7mm fan spacer/isolators to allow the rad plugs to clear the flex mount in the Alphacool UT60 360 rad I used.

Side view of the interference problem I ran into. The holes are not lined up, the flex bracket needs to move more to the right. I needed an additional spacer between the rad and flex bracket.

Top view with holes lined up. Right side of pic shows overlap with the BP plugs I am using. The flex mount is laying on plugs.

SIde view of the rad and bracket holes lined up. The bracket is laying on the plugs. Both the low profile and normal BP plugs are installed.

Both sized BP plugs with the 7mm Phobya fan gasket for reference. The 7mm allowed clearance between the flex bracket and both sized BP plugs.

I'm the one who brought this up on caselabs thread and I just wanted to thank you for the time you spend explaining and putting these pictures up. So is the 7mm gasket really needed? I was told that the XSPC 3mm rad gasket are good enough.

I made these up for the Bitpower LED x-station. I have a total of 16 LEDs in the blocks, and Aqualis XT. I used a RGB LED mini amplifier for the Phobya RGB strips. Daisy changed them together since I will have the color change the same for all LED strips. The limitation of current output on the Aquaero needs this additional amplifier if you are running LED strips or multiple LEDs off the RGB header.

No problem on the pics for the flex mount, glad I could help thumb.gif. I ran into this problem and seemed like there were some different opinions on the best option . Depending on which type of plugs you use will determine the thickness you need.

The 3mm gasket could work (but I am not positive) if they do not compress much and matched with the low profile style plugs. If you are using a taller plug, 5mm of compressed would be my minimum thickness. Sorry but I don't have any direct measurements, just comparisons between the 5mm silicon and 7mm rubber options I had on hand.

Keep in mind that I am using the tall Bitspower style plugs to the extra 7mm (approx 5mm compressed) height was needed after I tightened everything down.

Which amplifier are you using with the AQ5 RGB? The output from AQ5 RGB is cathode based.

I am using a mini RGB amp from Amazon LINK

Thing is, I have not been able to get the color change working with the AQ5. Current output is white (which I want) but no RGB function, even with manual changes in Aquasuite. I spoke with shoggy and he mentioned a normal amp would work. I might be using the wrong kind since I assumed that this is what he meant would work. Have you tried the same with a RBG amp on the AQ5? Does it work correctly? If so could you link to the kind you have?

Other than asthetics is there a reason you didn't just go with the MCP35X pump instead? Im trying to decide which one to go with.

I wanted the most powerful version of the DDC pump so I got the 3.25 18W version (at the time). The pump top was exchanged to the EK plexi CSQ. In this case I bought mine directly as a Laing branding but this pump looks to have the same specs (18W, speed) but adds PWM control functionality. I am running voltage control through the AQ5 and power adjust 2 so I didn't need the PWM functionality (without PWM the pump was about $10 cheaper).

You can always change out a pump top to fit the rest of the blocks in your setup. I would look into your type of control required (PWM vs. Voltage). This will point you in the correct direction for a 3 pin (voltage control) or 4 pin (PWM control) pump configuration.

Did this answer your question?
