My budget got screwed. Are there any good 100.00 128GB SSD's? - Page 2

Honestly if you are coming from a regular HDD, all SSDs are a massive improvement in speed. The difference between the best and the worst is still under a second for most typical operations such as booting up windows.

San Disk and Samsung 840 are good, if you can get them at $100, which you can do occasionally on Amazon and Newegg.

I read that review too, they had nothing good to say, but nothing bad to say either. It's a very average drive, and that's what you get for $99 in the 120-128GB category.

I have two 120GB Kingston HyperX SSD's in my rig. They are absolutely incredible.

Speaking of which, if you live in the US. Staples sells the HyperX but they also sell the V300 120GB from Kingston and it's usually under $100. Once again, not the fastest drive on the planet but I have bought two of them in the last few months, they're decent, I usually wait until they send me a 15% or 20% off coupon via email and then I go snag one.

But anyway, it also comes with a 2.5" USB 2.0 enclosure for a 2.5" HDD and I find those pretty handy.

I thought all 128GB SSDs were sub $100 by now? or has memory price inflation killed it just like what happened with RAM?

Sale prices vs daily prices.
You do not know when or what will be on sale.
