Should I get the same RAM as my current 4gig clip or something better?

It's time to upgrade the Ram. Right now I have a 4gig stick of Corsair 1600 low profile Vengeance DDR3.

Should I just get a couple more sticks of this, or is it okay to get something faster and run it alongside it? Or should I just replace it completely?

As for how much i'm willing to spend. Eh, no more than 100. But i'd like the best RAM I can get with that cash without it being overkill. I was considering getting 2 8gig sticks of somekind, just not sure what. Was wondering what the OCN community thinks.

The cheapest solution would be just to get another 4GB stick of Corsair Vengeance LP DDR3-1600. A 2x4GB configuration at that speed is more than OK for gaming purposes and such.

You shouldn't attempt to add different, faster RAM to your existing stick because the existing stick will drag it down.

If you want a 2x8GB configuration, I found a kit of DDR3-2133 Patriot Viper 3 @ Newegg Canada for $136 AR $20...

Thanks but I think i NEED low profile RAM. My heatsink is one of those beast noctua ones. I forget which, but my ram barely fits as it. Also maybe 2x4bg would be better than. giving me a total of 12 gigs.
