New Gaming Rig

Hello Everyone,

First post around here. Would like to know your opinion, this is my second PC in 3 years.

I just purchased these PC parts for a new gaming rig.

CPU: Core i7 3820
MEM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB 4x4GB 2133Mhz
MOBO: Sabertooth x79
VC: EVGA 780 ACX
SC: Sound Blaster ZX
LCD: ASUS PB278Q
PSU: Corsair AX860
Cooling: Corsair h100i
Case: HAF X.
Bought 3rd party fans for better cooling. 1x Bitfenix 230mm, 3x Bitfenix 200mm, 2 Noctua F12s for the H100i, 1x Bitfenix 140mm and 120mm.

For some, the system might be an overkill for gaming (I do agree on that) but I do Photoshop/Lightoom editing and some video as well.

Thanks in advance for your opinions!

Looks great and will serve you well for both uses.

Those f12s are quieter than the corsair fans but not better. They have good static pressure and are quiet but the corsair fans are very capable with good static pressure. They are just louder. I'm also not sure if they will work with the corsair link software. I believe it does not work with all fans.

Hmmm really? Did not know that man...you mean the fans that come with the cooler or the fans with a blue rim on the spinner?

Thanks for the reply..

I meant the fans that come withthe h100i. The fans that come with the H100i are very similar to the SP120 perforamnce edition fans. THe main difference seems to be they are a bit louder, have higher Static pressure which is important for a high density Rad like the h100i and they dont have the coloured rings. THey are designed to work with the corsair link software.

Other fans like f12's may not work properly with the link software although I havent seen a comphrehensive list.

Mate, after several hours reading, I concluded that the corsair link software does not worth the hassle to control fans...the 2 are connected directly to the motherboard.

Good to know. I've been reading about the asus aisuite iii software and its fan control. Looks promising. The z87 mobos have a lot of fan headers so I may go that way next rig.

Maybe they will also release it for x79 mobos as well.
